What the rules are, and why they cost you money
- Pure white background — RGB (255,255,255). Amazon's words: off-white or gray backdrops are not allowed. Most home studio shots land at 248–252 and fail.
- The product must fill at least 85% of the frame (80% in jewellery). Generous margins are the most common reason a technically fine photo gets hidden.
- At least 500 px on the longest side — Amazon cannot accept anything smaller — and 1000 px or more is what turns the zoom feature on. We deliver at 1600 px or more.
- No text, logos, badges, watermarks or props on the main image — the product only.
- The whole product inside the frame, with nothing cut off and no frame, line, border or shadow touching the edge.
- No transparency, and the image must accurately represent the item.
A suppressed listing is invisible in search. It earns nothing while it stays that way, and it is usually a two-minute fix once you know which rule broke.
